Are You Ready for Change?
We often say we want something new in our lives, something different. Change. However, that change ends up being something external. Something doesn’t feel right in life. Feels out of place. So, the pursuit begins to fix that not right feeling. It might begin with new clothes, rearranging furniture or even buying new furniture, perhaps a new car, moving homes, or changing jobs. We change the environment around us. Feeling at ease, as if we have some control. Lulling back into comfort and satisfaction, for a while, that we have solved the problem.
In time the feeling returns. The knowing, the longing, the discomfort. We begin the process again. The outcome may look different but the cycle is the same.
So, one must ask. “Was I really ready for change?” “Did I really want to change or did I just want the discomfort/discontentment to go away?” “Did I really change or just the environment around me?”
These can be hard questions to ask. Challenging even more to be honest with ourselves and answer.
The time has come to ask yourself “What do I need to change, from within?” In all the changes before the change has been external but one constant remains, you. The world is providing a wonderful opportunity to step into a new realm. A world where choosing to change is embraced, almost a requirement.
In stepping into the things that make us uncomfortable and unable to change the exterior situation, we come face to face with ourselves, our fears, our dreams, and opportunity. Opportunity to decide how to move forward.
The world has been on “pause” waiting for things to return to normal. Then came the “new normal”. Everyone is trying to label the external without addressing the internal. Trying to find comfort in the exterior and put a label on how we are to show up in the world and term it normal. Do you find yourself looking for direction on how to act, speak, or resume life in the “new normal”?
The beauty and scariness of this is the “new normal” already exists within you and is yet to be defined. The cessation of school, work, and other activities that busy our lives is to strip away the excuses, distractions, and cover story to what isn’t working in your life. The cause of the desire for change.
What is it you want to create in your life? Are you living your ideal life? Does your professional life fulfill your passions? Are there challenges in your marriage that you want to work on? Are you financially in the place you wanted to be or battle with self worth / net worth crossover?
The opportunity for change is here. In the way of transformation. Transform in a new and big bold way. It might feel scary in the beginning, middle, and end. Ultimately, in being on the other side there is freedom.
Are you ready to feel that freedom? Can you close your eyes and feel in your body what freedom feels like?
If so, close your eyes and ask within, “Am I ready to transform my life?”
When you open your eyes and say “Yes” or even “I think so, tell me more” you have a choice. The choice to explore what the yes means. The choice to make one new choice in your life, followed by another. The choice to choose differently. Not from the belief that your current circumstances are wrong but they are perfect for your growth.
